About this maker

Joseph Ding has been making violins for more than 25 years, despite his tender age. He learnt his violinmaking from his teacher/relative JH Wang, one of the most famous violinmaker to graduate from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Joseph is a perfectionist, and because of this he does not make a lot of violins in a year. Some say he is too stringent to be commercially viable in the Chinese violinmaking scene, but that may be his winning points in the long run. Right now, we are happy to bring his rare work to the world. Get his violins now before he turns into one of those great violinmaking masters.

  • Self formulated oil varnish.
  • Excellent in tone with powerful projection. Definitely a solo instrument.
  • 24 years naturally aged spruce and maple from Italy.
  • Quite possibly to become a highly sort after violinmaker in future and hence has a great unlocked potential in the violin’s value.
